Valeria DeCastro

Valeria DeCastro (Lela) is a performer artist with background in music, theatre and dance. She opened the Bloomington Music Together in 2005. And since ever, she has been sharing her love and passion for music with many families in our community. Valeria has sharpened her skills as a teacher and center director by taking additional trainings on working with babies, preschool, and movement and rhythm:

Aaron Comforty

Aaron received a B.A. in Ethnomusicology from Indiana University, where he specialized in the Ethnomusicology of Music Education. Aaron plays trumpet with Chainsaw Mondays, and was a former baritone with IU's African American Choral Ensemble, under the directions of Dr. Raymond Wise. He worked for two years at Hoosier Courts Nursery School, teaching alongside Jitka Horne, Indiana University Early Childhood Educator of the year (2012). He was the former Co-Director of the Limestone Beaters youth brass band, which recorded a full length album in 2016. Aaron has been teaching private lessons for five years and is currently teaching music at the Fairview Elementary school. He's toured internationally with the Sea To Seed sailboat tour in British Columbia, Canada, which connects musicians with organic farmers on the Gulf Islands. He also tours nationally with the Jefferson St. Parade Band and Upfolk.

Brianna Murray

Brianna Murray moved to Bloomington to pursue a master’s degree in voice at IU and is excited to teach Music Together. Brianna has been making music her whole life, and understands the importance of starting music at a very early age. She graduated from Oberlin Conservatory in 2017 with degrees in Voice and Psychology. She spent the last year living in Paris, France working as an au pair for a family with young children. Brianna grew up in Elmhurst, IL and is happy to be back in the Midwest. She received her license from Music Together about 3 years ago and is now joining our team. Join her for our Friday and Saturday classes. I am so happy to have Brianna with us. Welcome to Bloomington Music Together Brianna!
